Stuart E. Lucas has served as a Trustee of the Stuart Foundation since 2004. He is a descendent of Elbridge A. Stuart and Elbridge H. Stuart, the Stuart Foundation’s founders.

Stuart is co-founder and Co-Managing Partner of Wealth Strategist Partners, LLC, a strategic advisor to large, complex family enterprises. 

In addition to his duties with Wealth Strategist Partners, Stuart is deeply engaged in public education well beyond the Stuart Foundation.  He serves on the boards of the NEA Foundation in Washington, DC and the Chicago Public Education Fund.  Previously, he served on the boards of the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools and the National Public Radio Foundation.

Stuart has been an Adjunct Professor of Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and he designed and co-directs their Private Wealth Management program. His first book, Wealth: Grow It and Protect It (FT Press) has been published on three continents. His latest book, The Taxable Investor’s Manifesto (Wiley), was published in early 2020.  He is author of numerous articles and has been a featured speaker at Harvard Business School, Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), CFA Institute, Financial Times, and other programs about wealth management.

Earlier in his career, Stuart was Senior Managing Director of the Ultra-High Net Worth Group within Private Client Services at Bank One (now JP Morgan Chase), General Manager of European operations for Wellington Management Company, and Assistant Portfolio Manager of a Forbes Honor Roll mutual fund.

He has a Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College, an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

He and his wife, Susan, have three children and live in Chicago.
