Kayla Cook

Grants Associate

Kayla comes to the Stuart Foundation with experience working in nonprofits, recreation, and media. She earned her B.A. in Journalism and M.S. in Sport Business with a focus in Recreation and Event Management from Temple University in Philadelphia.

During graduate school, Kayla worked for Temple University’s Athletic Department as a Sports Media Assistant, writing press releases for five different sports at the university. She also served as a non-voting, Board Fellow for Starfinder Foundation, a nonprofit that motivates and challenges youth from across Greater Philadelphia through after-school and summer soccer programs. Additionally, Kayla worked for Philadelphia Parks and Recreation coordinating community recreation programming and assisted with grant writing.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Kayla coached summer sport camps for kids through Skyhawks Sports Academy in the East Bay and worked for a food-tech company coordinating events that promote healthy eating at schools and universities across the country.

Kayla was also Division I athlete at Temple, playing softball during her undergraduate studies and currently volunteers for Girls on the Run of the Bay Area.
