October 7, 2016 Stuart Foundation

If student learning is going to be competency-based,
personalized, and available on demand,
then so must be the learning of their teachers.

This report profiles the work of organizations
advancing teacher leadership in California,
documenting their contributions by highlighting
the perspectives and accomplishments of
teacher leaders they have engaged. The report examines
examples of career pathways and professional
learning models for teachers—including microcredentialing
as a means to accelerate teacherled
learning and California’s progress toward the
state’s blueprint for K-12 improvement.
