Letter from Dwight Stuart, Jr.

On behalf of the Trustees of the Stuart Foundation, I am writing to let you know that Jonathan Raymond has resigned as President of the Foundation.  During this period of transition, I am pleased to announce that our long serving Chief Financial Officer, David Barlow, will be our Interim President, ably supported by our dedicated and talented professional staff.

This transition comes at an important moment for the Foundation.  After taking time to refine our strategies, Program staff are leading the implementation of four grantmaking portfolios that are responding to critical needs and opportunities in the K-12 public education field: School Finance & Accountability; Educator Leadership; Adolescent Learning; and Creativity & Arts Education.

Our investments are supporting research that is improving practice and policy, strengthening educator leaders, and engaging students and their families.  The Board is committed to this work and to the ongoing success of our grantees.  And we are proud of the staff’s commitment to our purpose: Improving life outcomes for young people through education.

I want to express my appreciation to Jonathan and, along with my fellow Trustees, staff and our partners, wish him well now and in the future.

Sincerely,

D.L. Stuart, Jr.
Chair, Board of Directors
