Kayla Cook

Grants Associate

Kayla comes to the Stuart Foundation with experience working in nonprofits, parks and recreation departments and media. She earned her B.A. in Journalism and M.S. in Sport Business with a focus in Recreation and Event Management from Temple University in Philadelphia.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Kayla coached summer sport camps for kids through Skyhawks Sports Academy in the East Bay and worked for a food-tech company coordinating events that promote healthy eating at schools and universities across the country.

During graduate school, Kayla worked for Temple University’s Athletic Department as a Sports Media Assistant, writing press releases for five different sports at the university. She also served as a non-voting, Board Fellow for Starfinder Foundation, a nonprofit that motivates and challenges youth from across Greater Philadelphia through after school and summer soccer programs. Additionally, Kayla worked for Philadelphia Parks and Recreation coordinating community recreation programming and assisting with grant writing.

Kayla was also a Division I athlete at Temple, playing softball during her undergraduate studies. She has a passion for sports-based youth development and how it can foster children’s physical, social and emotional health.
