Stuart Foundation Announces New Program Officer in Child Welfare

The Stuart Foundation is pleased to announce that Michelle François joined the Foundation as Program Officer, Child Welfare on November 2, 2009. Michelle has 14 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, serving as a program officer for a family foundation, as a planner for a large publicly-funded foundation, and as a fund developer for innovative human service and arts programs. As Program Officer for The Carl and Roberta Deutsch Foundation, Michelle managed a $3 million portfolio with grantmaking priorities in the areas of early childhood development, college access, arts education and humanitarian services. Most notably, Michelle facilitated the development of a strategic plan that established priorities for a two-year, $250 million initiative to address the needs of Los Angeles County’s most vulnerable infants and toddlers.
Michelle received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Communications from Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
